Booking Terms and Conditions

  • Payment: Online booking & payment facility is managed securely by Stripe (www.stripe.com) If you choose to ‘pay-on-completion’, we accept cash or bank transfer. We do not provide invoices other than in the case of contract or corporate instructions.
  • Appointment Time: every effort will be made to arrive at the scheduled appointment time. However, unforeseen delays beyond our control can occur and we ask for around 15 mins of flexibility. In the case of a more significant delay, we will of course get in touch.
  • Changes/Delays: on occasion, it may become clear that a service will take significantly longer than planned – e.g. an unexpected or undisclosed bird’s nest. We reserve the right to re-arrange attendance to provide adequate time, and to charge an additional fee before commencing.
  • Service Durations: Services take around 1hr for single sweeps, and up to 1.5hrs or longer for a specialist service or for multiple services. However, these times are guidelines only.
  • Appointment changes: We reserve the right to contact you to discuss an alternative appointment should it be necessary.

    By booking online you consent to our Data Protection & GDPR Policy which is available on request by email, phone, or completing the form on the Contact the Captain page. You also consent to receiving periodic safety & service booking reminder emails, and communications in respect of your booking. We will never sell your information under any circumstances!
  • Pre-Sweep Requirements: Please ensure that all ash, leftover fuel and fireplace items are removed prior to appointment. We cannot accept liability for damaged items.
  • Service’ & ‘Safety Check: These elements pertain to a light servicing & maintenance of an appliance (e.g the replacement of fire rope & repairs to fire cement sealant) similar to a car MOT. A broad safety check of an appliance and chimney will be conducted, with results will be detailed on your sweep certificate and should be considered as guidance only.
  • Cancellation Policy: Right to Cancel. You have the right to cancel a booking within 14 days without giving any reason. To exercise this right you can telephone, inform us in writing by email or letter or can complete the following: Cancellation Form To: Captain Sweep Ltd, 4 Queen Street, Bath BA1 1HE I wish to cancel my contract for chimney sweeping services on [insert date], ordered on [insert date].
